BUILDING BIOLOGY

WE STAND FOR BREATHING HOUSES AND HEALTHY ROOM CLIMATE.

A HEALTHY LIFE REQUIRES A HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT.

Building biology is a new discipline of construction and furnishing, which is holistically dedicated to the well-being and health of the people, in the living environment.

The average person spends 90% of his life indoors.
The Federal Minister of Health stated: „One person in three is environmentally ill.“
How can that be? Does our living space make us ill?
The answer is found in unhealthy indoor climates.

Indoor air often contains more harmful quantities of toxic solvents, biocides, carbon dioxide, particulate matter or other contaminants. The burden of indoor air is caused by volatile and low-volatility pollutants, fibers, particles, allergens and microbial contamination by fungi and bacteria. These pollutants are mainly caused by the materials of furniture, textiles, floor coverings, wall surfaces or the like. Volatile pollutants such as solvents, formaldehyde and isocyanates diffuse into indoor air from adhesives, paints, lacquers, thinners, insulating materials, wallpapers, carpets, joint sealants, chipboards, textiles and so forth. Low-volatile pollutants contain pesticides, flame retardants and plasticisers in our rooms.

Adding to the unhealthy chemical influences are bad light, electrosmog, magnetic fields, radioactivity, sound, particles and harmful building materials.

The effects of these environmental influences on our health are often discovered years later and thus not directly linked to the cause. Building biology focuses on recognizing and avoiding these negative environmental conditions.
